Oncology rehabilitation is a growing field as there is a growing body of evidence to support its use in improving functional mobility and quality of life. This area of practice has some specific challenges. Effective intervention starts with understanding the patient’s cancer history, including the type of cancer, where the cancer is located, the presence of metastasis, and the cancer treatment type (both active and previous). Information is provided regarding specific symptoms, such as cancer-related fatigue and pain. Several major international organizations have released exercise program recommendations, which will be addressed in this course.
